Update on MCC new coaches and leaders

Coaching update

It’s been a busy year for some of our aspirant paddlers, who have been working towards British Canoeing Coaching and Leadership qualifications. This is a fantastic achievement for not only themselves but also the club as it elevates our club to be bigger and better in what we can offer to our members.

Why does the Club need Leaders and Coaches?
Maldon Canoe Club support all members who wish to progress their paddling skills and qualifications because without them, the club would be very limited in where and what we can paddle. So by having a strong team of qualified paddlers across a wide spectrum of disciplines means we can offer something for everyone in a safe and structured way and more importantly… be covered by remit from British Canoeing.

Congratulations to John Davey who has gained his 4 star Sea Leader Award in the challenging seas of Anglesey In North Wales. MCC now have 4 fully qualified Sea Leaders!

Adrian Harding, Del Clark and John Davey have also completed the core coach training which is part 1 of the way to become a level 2 coach which again is absolutely fantastic news! This with now give MCC Two level 3 coaches, six level 2 and three level 1 coaches.

Lastly, we have another two aspirant paddlers (Clint Gaydon and Robert Wilson) who will soon be taking their White Water Leader assessment. Good luck guys. Again great news for the club as this will take our tally of White Water Leaders to 5.

Want to become a coach, leader or just gain some British Canoeing qualifications?
The best place to start is have a chat with our head coach Clive Marfleet or one of the other coaches/leaders
