Aims:

To provide an opportunity for those who have reached a certain skill level on the clubs Lee Valley events, to progress to white water river running. Focus will be on reading the river, picking a line and technique development on class 2-3 water.

To provide the opportunity for those with higher level skills to run 3-4 class white water.
Where:
The River Tryweryn – Lower Treweryn, National White Water Centre – Bala (Aim 1)
Upper Tryweryn, National White Water Centre (Aim 2)
Who:
Anyone with Lee Valley or other white water paddle experience should contact Clive Marfleet by phone. We’d like to encourage our members to participate and extend their skills & enjoy the weekend on the water.
When:
Saturday 8th Morning Lower Tryweryn (Aim 1)
Position vehicles at Bala get out Car Park for return. Paddle White Water Centre – Bala. Portage around Bala Falls is possible for those not wishing to attempt it.
Saturday 8th Afternoon Upper Tryweryn (Aim 2)
Transport boats and paddlers to WW Centre. Those not wishing to participate in the Upper Tryweryn paddle can enjoy capturing the skills of the other members on camera or enjoy coffee and cakes at the WW Centre Café.
Sunday 9th
The coaches and leaders will determine a suitable paddle for members based on the skills & capabilities developed in the group on the previous days. It is quite likely, but will depend on the leaders / coaches and total numbers, that we might have two groups paddling, one on Upper Tryweryn, the other on Lower.

Lunch on Saturday & Sunday can be bought in the Cafe at the National White Water Centre, or bring your own.

Transport:
We currently have cars travelling from the following departure points and it might be possible to car share in order to split the fuel costs. When you’ve checked with Clive and know that you will be travelling to Wales then please contact Rob so that he can match you up with others for transport.
