Maldon Loop

Starting at Beeleigh falls.CM9 4SS ///dishes.vibrating.chats

Meet at 11.30am. High tide Maldon 3.56pm,Approx 9miles.

Tied dependent so please be on time.

Part 1:We will paddle up the Chelmer canal to Heybridge, approx. 3 miles.

Once there we will have a 350 mt portage to the beach opposite ST Georges play area so if you have wheels you can store in or on your boat please bring them,we will all help each other so don’t worry if you don’t.

Part 2: We will paddle round Northey Island on the river Blackwater,(weather permitting)approx. 3 miles, if its too windy we can take the usual route and miss this out.

please be aware this is open tidal water and we will be against the tide until we reach the East side of the Island.

There will be a place to rest up and have a snack at the causeway before we head for home.

Part 3:We will continue on the Blackwater past Maldon Esplanade back towards Beeleigh falls to finish, again approx. 3 miles.

Type of paddler: Confident.

Type of boat: Sea Kayaks, Tourers, Crossovers with skeg, no small ww boats please because of distance.

Lunch /snacks /drink.

Dress for the weather hopefully sun hats and sun cream.
