Maldon Loop.
1 Beeleigh to Heybridge. paddle the canal to the Basin, once there we will be launching from the beech at ST Georges play area https://maps.app.goo.gl/C7rQ3KMGUpjDU4Si7
approx. 325mtrs portage so wheels are a must. we can have a short break at the get in.
2 On too open water to circumnavigate Northey Island clockwise, we will be pushing against the tide for the first mile until we reach the southside of the Island. 3 final push for home along the esplanade back to Beeliegh Falls for our exit.
skill set: confident to paddle in open water and the distance, we may also have the wind against us at some point which will add to the difficulty.
This trip is based around the tide so we need to paddle at a reasonable pace.
As always dress for the weather/water temp. ( could be sun cream or woolly hats)
Craft ; Sea kayak, Tourers, Crossovers with skeg, No small boats on this one due to the distance.
Lunch, snacks, hot and cold drinks.
